Barnum

by Coleman, Stewart and Bramble

Based on the early career of Phineas Taylor Barnum, co-founder of the famous circus that bore his name, Barnum is a razzle-dazzle musical extravaganza with spectacular staging in keeping with its circus origins.

The production features such vibrant classics as Come Follow the Band and Join the Circus, along with the sublime ballad The Colours of my Life, and you will meet some weird and wonderful characters: for example, General Tom Thumb, only twenty-five inches from toe to crown, and Joice Heth, the oldest woman alive. Add the razzamatazz of marching bands, tumbling bands and the very best talent that the Elsternwick Campus can offer, both on stage and behind the scenes, and you have a show that cannot fail to thrill!

More than 100 Middle School students will be involved in Barnum, many of them already gearing up for workshops at NICA, the National Institute of Circus Arts, in preparation for their roles.

Brought to you by the team that delivered Oliver!, Annie and Oklahoma!, Barnum is a musical that will delight the whole family. Don’t miss it!
