Best known for his starring role as "Murph" in the hit TV satire The Hollowmen, Lachy lived for the theatre in his ATC days, appearing in such memorable productions as South Pacific (1988) and The Rover (1988). His career in entertainment started immediately post-school with theatre roles in Sexual Perversity In Chicago and Rinaldo 441, and television appearances in Blue Heelers, Stingers and White Collar Blue. In 1997 he wrote the Canadian action film Men With Guns, and in 2000 starred in the independent hit Four Jacks, winning the Best Actor Award at the Melbourne Underground Film Festival. This was followed by his starring role in the comedy film Let’s Get Skase, which he also cowrote. His biggest international role to date was that of "Sparks" in The Matrix Revolutions and Enter The Matrix, and he was considered for "The Joker" in The Dark Knight, the part that won Heath Ledger his posthumous Oscar. Most recently, Lachy starred in Elling for the Sydney Theatre Company, directed by Pamela Rabe.
